3 members of the site staff at Red Road participated in “Movember”. Brian W. Smillie, Craig Bradburn and Ally Girdwood raised £368 for male cancer charities by growing their moustaches for the month of November. Very Well Done to all three! 

Safedem would like to congratulate Barmulloch Primary School in winning their third Eco Flag. The children all worked very hard in making their school eco friendly. Safedem contributed a donation to help supply and erect flagpoles so they can fly their flags with pride.

Safedem have recently became the proud sponsers of St Roch’s U21’s football club. We wish them all the best and good luck for the season ahead.

Now that the buildings are completely asbestos free, we can progress with the complex task of designing the way the buildings will collapse during the demolition. Our Engineers are carrying out detailed surveys while our crews continue to soft strip the buildings.

While most of us have been enjoying this lovely, sunny, dry weather lately, the lack of our usual rainfall does have an impact upon demolition operations, especially when trying to contain the spread of dust.

We have introduced a water cannon onto the site with the precise purpose of minimising the spread of dust during this dry weather. These cannons tend to be more effective than most dampening down methods, although its effectiveness will remain under review.

We have almost completed the removal of the external asbestos panels at the east slab block at 153 – 213 Petershill Drive. Only two phases of removal are to be done before we move onto the next slab block at 10-30 Petershill Court.

All of the internal asbestos containing materials have been removed from the east slab block at 153-213 Petershill Drive.

We are also two-thirds of the way through the internal asbestos removal at the other slab block – 10-30 Petershill Court
